Learn how to make a luscious strawberry cold foam that’s perfect for topping your matcha and coffee lattes. This recipe features a homemade strawberry syrup combined with heavy whipping cream and vanilla, whipped into a light and creamy foam for a delightful fruity twist to your beverages.

Ingredients

For the Strawberry Syrup

  • 8 oz strawberries, washed, hulled, and chopped
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

For the Strawberry Cold Foam

  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2-3 tbsp strawberry syrup
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Syrup: In a medium-sized pot, combine the chopped strawberries, granulated sugar, and water. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it reaches a gentle boil. Stir continuously to dissolve the sugar completely. Use a potato masher or fork to crush the strawberries gently to release their juices and flavor. Then remove the pot from heat.
  2. Strain the Syrup: Pour the strawberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a small jar or bowl to separate the liquid syrup from the solids. Press the strawberries lightly to extract as much syrup as possible, discarding the leftover pulp.
  3. Make the Cold Foam: In a jar or a small liquid measuring cup, combine the freshly made strawberry syrup, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract. Use a handheld milk frother to whip the mixture until it thickens and forms a creamy, airy foam.
  4. Serve: Spoon the strawberry cold foam on top of your favorite cold or hot matcha or coffee latte and enjoy immediately for a refreshing and flavorful treat.

Notes

  • The thickness of the strawberry cold foam depends on the cream and the amount of whipping; adjust whipping time accordingly.
  • Adjust the amount of strawberry syrup to achieve your desired sweetness.
  • You can store leftover strawberry syrup in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Use chilled heavy whipping cream for best frothing results.
  • If you don’t have a handheld milk frother, use an electric mixer or blend briefly to achieve foam, but avoid overblending.
