These sticky chicken wings are marinated overnight in a tangy and spicy sauce made with ketchup, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar, then baked to crispy perfection. The result is a deliciously sticky, flavorful wing that’s perfect for game day, parties, or a tasty family dinner.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 4 pounds chicken wings (drums and flats)

Marinade/Sauce

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (such as Louisiana Hot Sauce or Cholula)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken wings: Use a sharp knife to make a few small cuts along the bone in the 4 pounds of chicken wings. This helps the marinade penetrate better. Then place the wings into a gallon-size freezer bag.
  2. Add the marinade and refrigerate: In a small bowl, whisk together 1 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup Dijon mustard, 1/4 cup hot sauce, 1/4 cup soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons brown sugar until smooth. Pour half of this marinade into the freezer bag with the wings. Massage the bag to coat all wings evenly. Seal and refrigerate overnight, reserving the remaining marinade in the fridge.
  3. Bake the wings: Remove the wings from the marinade and preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and arrange the wings in a single layer with skin side up, placing drumettes along the outer edges and flats in the center. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until the wings are cooked through and crispy.
  4. Toss and serve: Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl and toss them with the reserved marinade to coat thoroughly. Serve immediately while hot and sticky.

Notes

  • Marinating the wings overnight is key for maximum flavor and tenderness.
  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • If preferred, use your favorite hot sauce to adjust the spice level.
  • Cooking times may vary depending on wing size and oven; ensure wings reach an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
  • Leftover wings can be refrigerated up to 3 days and reheated in an oven or air fryer.
