Experience ultra crispy, flavorful No-Fail Roasted Potatoes that are perfectly golden every time. Potato halves are roasted on a bed of melted butter, seasoning salt, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese, creating a savory side dish with minimal effort and maximum taste.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 6 small-medium potatoes, cleaned and halved

Seasoning and Butter

  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1-1½ teaspoons seasoning salt (adjust to preference)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and melt butter: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Place the butter on a large rimmed baking sheet (around 9×12″) and put it in the oven to melt while it preheats.
  2. Combine seasoning and butter: Once the butter is melted, carefully remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle the seasoning salt and garlic powder evenly over the melted butter, then use a brush to mix the seasonings into the butter on the pan. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top evenly.
  3. Arrange potatoes: Place the potato halves cut side down on top of the butter mixture in the pan. Brush the excess butter mixture onto the cut sides of the potatoes to enhance crispiness and flavor.
  4. Bake: Bake the potatoes in the oven for 30-40 minutes depending on their size. Test doneness by poking a potato with a sharp knife; if it slides in easily without resistance, the potatoes are done.
  5. Cool and serve: Let the potatoes cool for at least 5 minutes on the pan before removing to serve, allowing flavors to settle and potatoes to finish crisping.

Notes

  • Potatoes: Red potatoes are preferred but you can use any variety you like.
  • Seasonings: Seasoning salt adds complex flavor, but feel free to experiment with other herbs and spices for variation.
  • Cooking tip: Make sure to place potatoes cut side down to maximize crispiness.
  • Serving suggestion: Serve as a tasty side dish to complement grilled meats or roasted vegetables.
