Mini Mummy Pizzas are a fun and easy Halloween-themed snack that kids can help make. Using English muffins as the base, these bite-sized pizzas are topped with pizza sauce, mozzarella string cheese arranged like mummy wrappings, and black olive pieces for spooky eyes and features. Baked to perfection, they deliver a crispy crust and melty cheese ideal for festive parties or a playful family treat.

Ingredients

Base

  • English Muffins, split in half

Toppings

  • Pizza Sauce – about 2 tablespoons per muffin half (Classico brand preferred)
  • Mozzarella String Cheese – pulled apart for mummy wrappings
  • Black Olives – sliced for eyes and facial features

Instructions

  1. Prepare English Muffins: Cut each English muffin in half horizontally to create mini pizza bases, then arrange them cut side up on a baking sheet evenly spaced apart.
  2. Add Pizza Sauce: Spread approximately 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over the cut side of each English muffin half to create the pizza base layer.
  3. Create Mummy Wrappings: Pull apart mozzarella string cheese into thin strips and carefully criss-cross these strips over the sauce on each muffin half, mimicking the appearance of wrapped mummy bandages.
  4. Apply Olives for Features: Slice black olives into small pieces and place them strategically on the cheese strips to form eyes, noses, and mouths, giving your mummies spooky faces.
  5. Bake the Mini Mummy Pizzas: Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) and bake for 12 minutes until the crust is crisp and the cheese is bubbly. For whiter cheese, reduce baking time slightly.

Notes

  • Adjust baking time if you prefer less browned cheese, as shorter baking will keep cheese whiter and softer.
  • Use your preferred pizza sauce brand if Classico is unavailable.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings with other vegetables or meats, but keep the mummy theme with cheese strips.
  • Thinly slice olives carefully to create distinct facial features on the mummies.
  • Use a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
