This Air Fryer Salmon recipe offers a deliciously easy way to enjoy perfectly cooked salmon with a sweet and savory honey soy glaze. Ready in just 20 minutes, it’s ideal for a quick and healthy meal for two, combining the convenience of air frying with vibrant flavors from garlic and soy sauce.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 2 salmon filets (6-8 ounces each)

Glaze

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten free)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • Kosher salt (to taste)
  • Fresh ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic or garlic powder until combined. Set this flavorful glaze aside.
  2. Season the salmon: Pat dry each salmon filet thoroughly with paper towels, then season both sides generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to enhance the natural flavors.
  3. Preheat the air fryer: Line your air fryer basket with foil to make cleanup easier later. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (approximately 200°C) for 3 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  4. Cook the salmon: Place the salmon filets skin-side down into the prepared air fryer basket. Evenly pour the prepared glaze over the salmon, keeping the minced garlic around the salmon if using fresh garlic to prevent burning. Close the air fryer and cook for 4 to 8 minutes, checking for doneness starting at 4 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model; salmon should flake easily with a fork when done.
  5. Serve: Carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer and transfer to plates. Spoon any remaining glaze collected in the foil over the filet for extra flavor. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Using tamari instead of soy sauce makes this recipe gluten free.
  • Adjust garlic quantity based on preference, and be careful to keep minced garlic away from direct heat to avoid burning.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the salmon and your specific air fryer model.
  • Line the air fryer basket with foil carefully, ensuring air circulation is not completely blocked.
  • For a larger serving, increase ingredients proportionally and adjust cooking time as needed.
