This Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon recipe offers a delicious balance of sweet and savory flavors with a sticky honey garlic sauce. Perfectly seared and then broiled to caramelized perfection, this salmon dish is quick to prepare and ideal for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)

Honey Garlic Glaze

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season the Salmon: Pat salmon filets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Season evenly with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and blackening seasoning if using. Set aside.
  2. Preheat the Broiler: Adjust your oven rack to the middle position to prevent burning the sauce. Preheat the broiler on high (around 550°F) to get it ready for cooking the salmon.
  3. Prepare the Glaze: In a large, oven-safe skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook for about 30 seconds until the sauce is warmed through and slightly blended.
  4. Sear the Salmon: Place the salmon filets skin side down in the skillet with the glaze. Cook for 3 minutes on the stove, frequently spooning the sauce over the top to baste the salmon and infuse flavor.
  5. Broil the Salmon: Transfer the skillet with the salmon to the oven. Broil on high for 5-6 minutes, basting once during the broiling process with the pan sauce. The salmon should develop a caramelized glaze and be cooked to your preferred doneness.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish the glazed salmon with minced parsley for freshness and color. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • Adjust the broiler rack height carefully to avoid burning the glaze; the middle rack is best.
  • Use skin-on salmon to help hold the fish together during cooking, but skinless filets can also be used.
  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of sriracha or add chili flakes.
  • This recipe pairs well with steamed vegetables, rice, or a simple green salad.
  • Leftover salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
