This Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe lets you prepare a delicious batch of creamy, spiced coffee in your slow cooker, perfect for gatherings or a cozy treat at work. Combining fresh brewed coffee, pumpkin puree, warm spices, and rich cream, this comforting autumn drink is topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg for the quintessential fall flavor experience.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 7 cups hot brewed coffee (preferably Starbucks Pike Place Roast)
  • 1 cup canned 100% pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream or half and half
  • ½ tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (can substitute with ½ cup white sugar if brown sugar is unavailable)

Optional Toppings

  • Aerosol whipped cream or homemade whipped cream
  • Ground nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a 4-quart or larger slow cooker, add the hot brewed coffee, 100% pumpkin puree, heavy cream, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, white sugar, and brown sugar. Stir the mixture gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Cook the Latte Mixture: Cover the slow cooker and set it to HIGH heat. Allow the mixture to cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the latte is thoroughly heated and the flavors have melded together.
  3. Serve and Garnish: After cooking, stir the latte again to ensure the ingredients remain combined. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream and a light sprinkle of ground nutmeg for a festive finish. Enjoy your homemade pumpkin spice latte warm.

Notes

  • Ensure you use 100% pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie mix to avoid added sugars and spices that could alter the flavor.
  • If you prefer a lighter latte, substitute heavy cream with half and half or milk of your choice.
  • Adjust sugar quantity to taste; you can use all white sugar or adjust for less sweetness.
  • For a vegan version, use a plant-based cream and sweetener alternative.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat gently before serving.
