These homemade apple wraps are a warm, sweet treat perfect for a cozy snack or dessert. Tender cinnamon-spiced apples are cooked down in butter and brown sugar, then wrapped in soft tortillas, pan-fried until golden and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for a delightful crisp finish.

Ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 4 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon, divided

Wraps

  • 4 medium tortilla shells
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apple Filling: Add the diced apples, butter, brown sugar, ¼ cup of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon into a large skillet.
  2. Cook the Apples: Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring frequently to prevent burning, until the apples are tender and the liquid has mostly evaporated, resulting in a thick, juicy filling.
  3. Assemble the Wraps: Spoon one quarter of the apple mixture onto the center of each tortilla shell.
  4. Fold and Roll the Wraps: Fold the sides of each tortilla inwards, then roll them up from the bottom to enclose the apple filling securely.
  5. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the remaining ⅓ cup of granulated sugar with the remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon.
  6. Coat the Wraps: Lightly spray both sides of each prepared wrap with cooking spray, and then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top and bottom surfaces.
  7. Pan-Fry the Wraps: Place the wraps in a large skillet over medium-low heat and cook until both sides are golden brown and crispy, carefully flipping to cook evenly.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for a balanced sweet-tart flavor.
  • Ensure the skillet is on medium-low heat to avoid burning the sugar and apples.
  • If desired, serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgence.
  • These wraps can be reheated in a skillet or microwave but are best enjoyed fresh.
