A refreshing and healthy frozen strawberry mocktail made with fresh or frozen strawberries, citrus juices, and no added sugar, perfect for a quick and nutritious beverage that complies with Whole30 guidelines.

Ingredients

Mocktail Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen (not thawed) strawberries, plus more for garnish, if desired
  • 6-8 tablespoons orange juice (from 1-2 oranges)
  • 4 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1 cup cold water or 2 cups ice (about two handfuls)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: If using fresh strawberries, remove the green tops thoroughly to ensure clean, fresh flavor and avoid bitterness from leaves.
  2. Add Ingredients to Blender: Place the strawberries in the blender, then pour in the orange juice and lime juice. For fresh juice without a juicer, use a mesh sieve and a fork to extract the citrus juice by stabbing and squeezing the fruit halves over the sieve.
  3. Blend the Mixture: Add ice if using fresh berries or cold water if using frozen. Use your blender’s ice crush function to start blending for a smooth frozen consistency, then switch to regular blend mode. Adjust thickness by adding water tablespoon by tablespoon if too thick or more berries if too thin.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Pour the blended mocktail into glasses and garnish with additional strawberries as desired for a visually appealing finish.

Notes

  • Use frozen strawberries if you prefer a slushier texture without adding ice.
  • Adjust citrus quantities to your preferred level of tartness.
  • This recipe is Whole30 compliant and sugar-free, making it a great healthy alternative to sugary drinks.
  • Fresh ice or cold water can be substituted depending on the texture you want.
