This Ghost S’mores Dip is a fun and festive Halloween treat, combining melted semi-sweet chocolate, warm marshmallows shaped like ghosts, and creamy heavy cream baked to golden perfection. Served with crunchy graham crackers, it’s perfect for sharing and dipping during spooky celebrations.

Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 bag ghost marshmallows (or 4 packages ghost Peeps)
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream, warmed
  • Mini chocolate chips, for ghost eyes and mouth

For Serving

  • Graham crackers, for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oven and Dish: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Use a 9-inch oven-proof skillet, baking dish, or pie dish suitable for high heat.
  2. Layer Chocolate and Cream: Spread 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly on the bottom of the dish. Pour 1/4 cup of warmed heavy cream over the chocolate chips to help them melt smoothly.
  3. Add Marshmallows: Arrange a single layer of ghost-shaped marshmallows or ghost Peeps directly on top of the chocolate and cream mixture, covering the surface completely.
  4. Decorate Faces: Place mini chocolate chips on the marshmallows to form eyes and mouth. This decoration will soften and fade once baked, but adds a fun touch before baking.
  5. Bake to Melt: Bake the assembled dip in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the chocolate has melted thoroughly and the marshmallows have turned a golden color.
  6. Serve Warm: Carefully remove the hot dish from the oven. Serve immediately with graham crackers for dipping, allowing everyone to enjoy the gooey, sweet s’mores dip warm.

Notes

  • Use an oven-proof dish that can withstand 450°F heat to avoid breakage.
  • If ghost marshmallows are unavailable, regular marshmallows or large Peeps can be substituted, though they won’t have the ghost shape.
  • Warming the heavy cream before adding helps the chocolate melt smoothly and creates a creamy texture.
  • Keep an eye on the marshmallows while baking to prevent burning; golden and puffy is ideal.
  • Allow the dip to cool slightly before serving if it’s too hot to handle safely.
