Combining shredded chicken with cheddar cheese, ranch seasoning, and a crispy breadcrumb coating, these patties are fried to golden perfection for a crunchy exterior and a savory, cheesy center. Perfect for serving with your favorite dips or as a tasty finger food for gatherings.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 23 tablespoons oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix everything well until evenly combined and the mixture is slightly sticky. Add the egg and mix again thoroughly until the mixture holds together easily when pressed.
  2. Shape the patties: Take a small handful of the mixture and form it into round, slightly flattened patties. If the mixture seems too soft to shape, chill it in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes to firm it up. Lightly coat each patty in extra breadcrumbs to create a crispy outer layer during cooking.
  3. Cook the patties: Heat 2 to 3 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, place the patties into the pan without overcrowding. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, turning carefully, until the patties are golden brown, crispy on the outside, and heated through. Adjust heat as needed to avoid burning and ensure the insides are warmed properly.
  4. Drain and rest: Remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Let them rest for a couple of minutes to firm up slightly and remain crispy on the outside.
  5. Serve: Serve the crispy cheesy chicken ranch patties warm. They are perfect with ranch dressing, garlic aioli, or ketchup. Optionally garnish with fresh parsley for a fresh pop of color and flavor.

Notes

  • If the mixture is too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs to help it hold together better.
  • Use cooked chicken leftovers or rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • For gluten-free option, substitute regular breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • Adjust the amount of oil for frying depending on skillet size and desired crispiness.
  • These patties can be kept warm in a low oven (around 200°F) if making in batches.
