This Cinnamon Sugar Snack Mix is a delightful combination of crunchy mini pretzel twists, cinnamon-flavored Chex cereal, honey roasted cinnamon almonds, colorful M&Ms, and a sweet cinnamon sugar coating. It’s a quick and easy snack that’s perfect for parties, road trips, or anytime you need a sweet and salty treat.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 4 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 3 cups (120g) Chex Cereal (such as Cinnamon Chex)
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup M&Ms
  • 16 ounces Blue Diamond Honey Roasted Cinnamon Almonds (or any kind of almond)

Wet Ingredients

  • ¼ cup (57g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and simplify clean-up.
  2. Combine Butter, Pretzels, and Cereal: In a large bowl, pour the melted butter. Add the mini pretzel twists and Chex cereal, tossing gently to ensure everything is evenly coated with butter.
  3. Add Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: Sprinkle granulated sugar and ground cinnamon over the coated pretzels and cereal. Toss again thoroughly to distribute the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over all pieces.
  4. Bake the Mix: Spread the mixture in a single layer on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 18-20 minutes, stirring the mix halfway through at about 10 minutes to ensure even baking and coating.
  5. Cool the Mix: Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and allow the snack mix to cool completely. This helps the cinnamon sugar coating to set and become crisp.
  6. Add M&Ms and Almonds: Once cooled, transfer the mix back to the large bowl and gently toss in the M&Ms and honey roasted cinnamon almonds, combining everything evenly.
  7. Store: Store the finished Cinnamon Sugar Snack Mix in an airtight container. It will stay fresh and delicious for up to 7 days.

Notes

  • Feel free to use any type or flavor of nuts you prefer; honey roasted almonds add extra sweetness, but raw or salted almonds work well too.
  • You can omit pretzels or substitute with gluten-free pretzels to make this snack mix gluten free.
  • Any Chex cereal flavor works, but Cinnamon Chex provides the best complementary taste.
  • Customize the snack mix by using your favorite M&Ms flavors, such as caramel or pretzel varieties.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Freezing is not recommended as it may affect texture.
