This Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe is a creamy, spicy appetizer perfect for game day or any gathering. Made with shredded chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, buffalo sauce, and cheddar cheese, it’s baked until bubbly and topped with blue cheese or ranch dressing. Serve with baguette slices, Fritos scoops, or fresh veggies for a crowd-pleasing dip.

Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breasts (cooked and shredded)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (Frank’s Red Hots recommended)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons blue cheese dressing (or Ranch, for garnish)

For Serving

  • Fritos scoops
  • Baguette slices
  • Carrot sticks
  • Celery sticks

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the shredded cooked chicken, softened cream cheese, sour cream, buffalo sauce, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Use a large spatula to blend everything together until fully combined and creamy.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of a 1.5 quart baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the dip.
  3. Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden around the edges.
  4. Add Dressing and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and immediately drizzle blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing over the top. Serve warm alongside baguette slices, Fritos scoops, carrot sticks, and celery sticks for dipping. Enjoy your flavorful buffalo chicken dip!

Notes

  • For best results, use cooked chicken breasts shredded by hand or with a fork.
  • You can substitute ranch dressing for blue cheese dressing if preferred.
  • Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to control the spice level.
  • Serving with crunchy vegetables adds a fresh contrast to the creamy dip.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheated before serving.
