This Broccoli Stuffing Casserole is a comforting and hearty dish perfect for family dinners or holiday gatherings. It combines creamy broccoli and cheese with flavorful stuffing, baked to a golden brown perfection for a delicious, crowd-pleasing casserole.

Ingredients

Base Mixture

  • 10.5 ounce can cream of celery soup
  • 7.5 ounce container chive and onion cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound frozen broccoli florets, thawed

Stuffing Mixture

  • 12 ounce box stuffing mix (your preferred flavor)
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (1 ½ sticks)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a 9×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Creamy Broccoli Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cream of celery soup, chive and onion cream cheese, mayonnaise, milk, and black pepper. Use a hand mixer or whisk to blend until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add Broccoli: Stir in the thawed broccoli florets into the creamy mixture, ensuring the broccoli is evenly coated and well distributed throughout.
  4. Mix Stuffing and Butter: In a separate medium bowl, stir together the stuffing mix and melted unsalted butter until the stuffing is fully coated and mixture is cohesive.
  5. Layer Bottom Stuffing: Add half of the stuffing mixture evenly to the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing lightly to create a base layer.
  6. Add Broccoli Mixture: Spread the broccoli and creamy mixture evenly over the stuffing base, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Top with Remaining Stuffing: Sprinkle the remaining stuffing mixture evenly over the broccoli layer to form the top crust.
  8. Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly. Around the 20-minute mark, cover loosely with foil if the top is browning too quickly. Alternatively, bake covered with foil initially and remove the foil for the last 15 minutes to brown the top.

Notes

  • Use your preferred stuffing flavor to customize the taste.
  • Thaw broccoli fully and drain excess moisture if needed to prevent a watery casserole.
  • Covering the casserole during baking helps avoid an overly browned top while ensuring thorough cooking.
  • Butter can be substituted with margarine or a dairy-free alternative if needed.
  • Try adding shredded cheddar cheese for an extra cheesy layer if desired.
