Ingredients

Crust

  • 16 ounces refrigerated sugar cookie dough

Cream Cheese Topping

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fruit Toppings

  • 1 large banana, sliced
  • 8 fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 thinly sliced rings fresh pineapple, cut into sixths
  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)

Chocolate Ganache

  • 2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the cookie crust.
  2. Prepare and Bake Crust: Press the refrigerated sugar cookie dough evenly over the bottom of a greased 12-14 inch pizza pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes or until the crust is light golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before adding toppings.
  3. Make Cream Cheese Mixture: In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and creamy with no lumps.
  4. Assemble Fruit Pizza: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled cookie crust. Arrange the sliced banana, strawberries, and pineapple evenly over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle the top with chopped nuts for crunch and flavor.
  5. Prepare Chocolate Ganache: Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan just to a boil. Remove from heat and add the chopped bittersweet chocolate. Stir continuously until the chocolate is fully melted and the ganache is smooth.
  6. Finish and Serve: Drizzle the warm chocolate ganache evenly over the top of the fruit-topped pizza. Allow ganache to set slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy your banana split fruit pizza chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Allow the cookie crust to cool completely before spreading the cream cheese mixture to prevent melting.
  • You can substitute the chopped nuts with your favorite variety or omit them for a nut-free option.
  • For extra flavor, chill the assembled fruit pizza for 30 minutes before serving.
  • Use fresh, ripe fruit for the best taste and presentation.
  • Bittersweet chocolate can be replaced with semi-sweet or dark chocolate, depending on your taste preference.
