Ingredients

  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Add the egg yolk and mix until fully combined. Scrape down the bowl as needed.
  2. Step 2: Gradually mix in flour until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
  3. Step 3: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently a few times until smooth. Shape into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or freeze for later use).
