The Best Apple Bread is a homemade, sweet and moist dessert bread with a layer of yummy brown sugar and chunks of fresh apples.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup salted butter (1 stick), softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Apple Layer:

  • 1 1/4 cup peeled and chopped apples (about 2 small apples, Fuji or Granny Smith)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix cinnamon sugar: Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: Cream 2/3 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla: Mix in 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
  5. Add dry ingredients: Stir in flour and baking powder, then add milk. Mix until combined.
  6. Layer batter and apples: Pour half the batter into the pan, add half the apples and cinnamon sugar. Repeat layers.
  7. Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before removing from pan.
