Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 3/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (plus extra for rolling cookie dough balls in)
  • 1/4 cup Full Flavor Molasses (Brer Rabbit brand recommended)
  • 1 Large Egg (room temperature)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, cloves, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: Using a mixer, beat oil and sugar until blended. Add molasses and egg.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Chill Dough: Cover and refrigerate dough for at least 2 hours.
  5. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 375ºF and line baking sheets.
  6. Shape and Bake: Form dough balls, roll in sugar, and bake for 8-10 minutes.
