Ingredients

Bread Cubes:

  • 1 loaf Italian bread, cut into 1″ pieces (about 67 cups)

Egg Mixture:

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk (2%)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Butter Mixture:

  • ¼ cup salted butter, at room temperature
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. To Stale the Bread: Cube the Italian bread into 1″ pieces and either bake at 170°F for 30-60 minutes or let sit out overnight to dry.
  2. To Prep the Casserole: Whisk together eggs, milk, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and vanilla. Add bread cubes, coat evenly, cover, and refrigerate for 4-8 hours. Combine butter, brown sugar, and remaining cinnamon in a separate bowl and refrigerate.
  3. To Assemble the Casserole: Spray slow cooker, add soaked bread, crumble butter mixture on top, and cook on HIGH for 2 hours or LOW for 4 hours. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving. Top with powdered sugar, syrup, and berries.
