Recreate Arby’s favorite takeout at home with these delicious slow cooker beef and cheddar sandwiches. Tender chuck roast cooked low and slow in Arby’s sauce, topped with cheddar cheese sauce, all piled high on an onion bun.

Ingredients

    Chuck Roast:

  • 23 pound chuck roast
  • Seasonings:

  • 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Sauces:

  • 1 ½ cups Arby’s sauce, plus more for topping
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese sauce (such as Ricos brand)
  • Additional:

  • 6 onion rolls

Instructions

  1. Add the roast to the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Sprinkle with dried onion and steak seasoning. Pour Worcestershire sauce over the top.
  2. Pour Arby’s sauce over the roast. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4 hours.
  3. Shred the meat with two forks once tender. Keep warm in the slow cooker.
  4. Heat cheddar cheese sauce for serving.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches: Pile shredded beef on onion rolls, top with cheddar cheese sauce and more Arby’s sauce.

Notes

  • Add tomato, lettuce, and mayo for an ‘Arby’s deluxe’ version.
  • No Arby’s sauce? Use spicy BBQ sauce.
  • Swap cheese sauce for cheddar slices or shredded cheese.
  • Toast rolls for added crunch.
  • Use any preferred bun or make sliders.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Slow cooker times may vary; adjust as needed.
