These ooey gooey brownies are rich, fudgy, and incredibly moist, delivering the perfect chocolate indulgence. Made with simple ingredients like cocoa powder and egg whites, they are a lighter take on traditional brownies but still packed with gooey chocolate goodness in every bite.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups sugar
  • ½ cup egg whites, well shaken
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease or line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar and egg whites until combined. Add in the vegetable oil and vanilla extract, mixing well until smooth and glossy.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix to maintain a fudgy texture.
  5. Pour and Bake: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center remains slightly soft to achieve that ooey gooey texture.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing. This helps them set and keeps them gooey inside.

Notes

  • For extra gooey brownies, avoid overbaking; remove them when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • You can substitute vegetable oil with melted coconut oil for a subtle flavor twist.
  • To add texture, consider folding in chocolate chips or chopped nuts into the batter before baking.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
