Delight in these no-bake chocolate bird nests, a quick and easy treat perfect for spring celebrations or anytime you want a sweet, festive snack. Made with cocoa Rice Krispies, creamy peanut butter, and melted milk chocolate, these nests are naturally crunchy and chocolaty. Topped with colorful Cadbury mini eggs, they mimic real bird nests and require no baking—just simple mixing, molding, and chilling.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups cocoa Rice Krispies
  • 36 Cadbury mini eggs

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the milk chocolate chips on low power for 30-second intervals. Stir thoroughly between intervals until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, ensuring no lumps remain.
  2. Combine Peanut Butter and Chocolate: Immediately after melting the chocolate, stir in the peanut butter until the mixture is evenly blended and creamy.
  3. Mix with Rice Krispies: Pour the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the cocoa Rice Krispies. Stir gently but thoroughly to coat all the cereal pieces evenly with the chocolate mixture.
  4. Prepare Muffin Tin: Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin using butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
  5. Scoop Mixture into Tin: Evenly distribute the coated Rice Krispies mixture into each muffin cup, filling them fully to form the nest bases.
  6. Create Nest Hollows: Use a round measuring spoon or your fingers to gently press down the center of each cup’s mixture, hollowing out a nest-like indentation where eggs will later be placed.
  7. Chill to Set: Place the muffin tin in the refrigerator or freezer for about 20-30 minutes or until the nests harden and hold their shape firmly.
  8. Add Mini Eggs and Serve: Once set, place three Cadbury mini eggs in the center of each bird nest. Serve immediately or keep refrigerated until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Use a low-power microwave setting to prevent the chocolate from burning during melting.
  • Greasing the muffin tin is essential to easily remove the nests once hardened.
  • You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter for a different flavor.
  • For a nut-free version, replace peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
  • Store the bird nests in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Cadbury mini eggs can be substituted with any small candy eggs or jelly beans for a colorful variation.
