Ingredients

Hawaiian Rolls:

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls

Cheese Mixture:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Butter Mixture:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (oregano or basil, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Rolls: Slice the entire pack of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating them.
  3. Butter the Rolls: Spread softened butter on the cut sides of both top and bottom halves of the rolls.
  4. Add Garlic Powder: Optionally sprinkle garlic powder over the buttered rolls for extra flavor.
  5. Layer the Cheese: Evenly distribute the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the bottom half of the rolls.
  6. Place Top Half: Carefully place the top half of the rolls back onto the cheesy bottom half.
  7. Wrap in Foil: Wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil to prevent drying out.
  8. Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted.
  9. Unwrap and Toast: Unwrap foil and return rolls to the oven for 5 minutes for a golden crust.
  10. Slice and Serve: Let cool, slice into portions, and serve.
