Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • M&M’s chopped (amount as preferred)
  • M&M’s whole (for topping, 5 per cookie)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips, divided (½ cup in dough, ½ cup for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) to prepare for baking the cookies perfectly.
  2. Cream Sugars and Fats. In a stand mixer bowl, cream together sugar, brown sugar, softened butter, and vegetable oil until smooth and combined.
  3. Add Eggs. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully blended before adding the next, mixing until the batter becomes fluffy.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients. In a separate bowl, sift together baking powder, salt, baking soda, and all-purpose flour. Gradually add these dry ingredients to the wet mixture and blend until just combined. Then add vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Mix in Add-ins. Fold in chopped M&M’s and half a cup of white chocolate chips to bring bursts of color and chocolate throughout the dough.
  6. Shape Cookies. Scoop the dough into balls and roll them. Place on baking sheets and press 5 whole M&M’s on top center of each dough ball along with a few white chocolate chips to create a decorative and tasty topping.
  7. Bake. Bake for 8-9 minutes in the preheated oven until edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft.
  8. Cool. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet to set properly before transferring to a wire rack or serving.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, avoid overbaking; remove as soon as edges turn golden.
  • Adjust the amount of chopped M&M’s based on your preference for candy distribution.
  • Ensure butter is softened for easier creaming with sugars.
  • Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Using vegetable oil along with butter makes the cookies moist and chewy.
