Soft and chewy M&M cookie bars packed with chocolate chips and colorful M&Ms. The easiest way to make 2 dozen cookies – perfect for a birthday party, holiday, or bake sale!

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Additional:

  • 1 1/3 cup M&M candies, divided
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: to 350°F. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Prepare dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix until combined.
  4. Combine dry and wet ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mix until just combined.
  5. Add candies and chocolate chips: Fold in 1 cup of M&Ms and the chocolate chips.
  6. Press into pan: Spread cookie dough evenly in the pan. Top with remaining M&Ms.
  7. Bake: Bake for 22-30 minutes until golden. Cool on a rack before slicing.

Notes

  • Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
  • Bars can be frozen for up to 3 months.
