These Lunch Lady Brownies are incredibly fudgy and rich, topped with a homemade chocolate frosting that takes them to the next level. A classic brownie recipe that is sure to please any crowd.

Ingredients

    Brownies:

  • 1 cup melted butter
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • Frosting:

  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, mix melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth. Add flour, salt, and sugar, then mix. Add eggs and vanilla, mix until smooth.
  2. Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and pour batter in. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  3. Make frosting: Whisk butter, milk, powdered sugar, cocoa, and vanilla. Spread over cooled brownies.
  4. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Lining the pan makes for easier removal. You can also grease the pan.
  • If frosting is too thick, add milk to thin it out.
  • You can cut smaller portions for more servings.
