With its rich, cheesy flavor, this linguine alfredo is always a family-pleaser! Whether you keep it classic or mix in extras like chicken or broccoli, it’s a simple, satisfying dinner that never disappoints.

Ingredients

Linguine Alfredo:

  • 8 ounces linguine pasta
  • ¼ cup salted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 ½ cups half and half (or heavy cream for a richer sauce)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • ½ cup grated parmesan
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil Linguine: Place a large pot of salted water on the stove. Bring to a boil and cook linguine for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauce Preparation: In another pot over medium heat, melt butter, add garlic, then pour in the cream and garlic salt. Simmer, gradually adding shredded parmesan until melted. Remove from heat and stir in grated parmesan.
  3. Combine and Serve: Toss linguine in the alfredo sauce until coated. Optional: garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

  • This recipe moves quickly, so have all ingredients ready.
  • Save 1/2 cup of pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.
  • Use fresh parmesan for a smoother sauce; pre-grated can cause clumping.
  • Prepare sauce while pasta cooks; do not overcook pasta.
