This KFC Coleslaw Recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make version of the classic dish served at the restaurant. It captures the perfect blend of flavors and textures that make KFC coleslaw so popular.

Ingredients

For the Coleslaw:

  • 8 cups finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
  • 2 & 1/2 tablespoons very finely minced yellow onion

For the Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 & 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 & 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Chop the vegetables very fine: Chop cabbage, carrots, and onions finely, almost like the size of rice. Use a sharp knife or a food processor with a shredding attachment, then chop finely with a knife.
  2. Prepare the Dressing: In a large bowl, combine all dressing ingredients. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Combine: Add cabbage, carrots, and onion to the dressing. Mix well until coated.
  4. Refrigerate: Cover and refrigerate overnight. Stir occasionally for best results. Stir again before serving.

Notes

  • You can use a pre-shredded coleslaw mix if you prefer, but ensure it only contains green cabbage, carrots, and onions.
