These homemade peppermint patties are a delightful treat with a smooth, minty filling enrobed in rich chocolate. Perfect for sharing during the holidays or as a sweet gift.

Ingredients

Peppermint Filling:

  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 4 cups confectioners sugar

Chocolate Coating:

  • 1 pound chocolate almond bark
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Peppermint Filling: In a large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract. Gradually mix in confectioners sugar until a stiff, non-sticky dough forms.
  2. Shape the Patties: Roll the dough into balls and flatten into discs. Place on a lined baking sheet and freeze for 1 hour.
  3. Coat with Chocolate: Melt chocolate almond bark in the microwave. Dip frozen patties in chocolate, shake off excess, and top with sprinkles.
  4. Set and Serve: Place the dipped patties on the lined sheet to set. Enjoy after the chocolate has fully hardened.

Notes

  • Freeze the peppermint dough before dipping to prevent falling apart.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • You can shape the patties into larger or mini sizes for variation.
