This Ground Beef Gnocchi recipe features tender store-bought gnocchi smothered in a rich and creamy tomato sauce, elevated with the savory goodness of lean ground beef. A quick and easy one-pan meal that tastes like a gourmet delight!

Ingredients

For the Ground Beef Gnocchi:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning, or to taste
  • 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juices
  • 1/3 cup chicken or beef broth
  • 3/4 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1 pound uncooked potato gnocchi
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and onion for 7-10 minutes, draining excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add Flavor: Stir in garlic and Italian seasoning.
  3. Create the Sauce: Add diced tomatoes, broth, cream, and gnocchi to the pan. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Finish Cooking: Uncover, stir, and cook until gnocchi is tender and sauce thickens.
  5. Final Touch: Stir in parmesan, salt, and pepper. Serve hot.

Notes

  • There is no need to pre-cook the gnocchi; it cooks in the sauce.
  • For added freshness, consider stirring in some fresh basil before serving.
