Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or tenders, cut into bite-size pieces
  • ⅓ cup cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

For the Orange Glaze:

  • 1 1/2 cups orange marmalade (about a 16 oz jar)
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, plus more for garnish

For Garnish:

  • Scallions

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken: Cut chicken into 1″ pieces.
  2. Coat the chicken: Toss chicken pieces in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Brown the chicken: Lightly brown chicken in olive oil in a skillet.
  4. Transfer to slow cooker: Move browned chicken to the slow cooker.
  5. Prepare the glaze: Whisk together marmalade, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds.
  6. Combine everything: Pour the glaze over the chicken and stir to combine.
  7. Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 2-3 hours, stirring halfway through.
  8. Garnish and serve: Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. Serve over rice.

  • Chicken breasts, tenders, or boneless thighs can be used.
  • Rice wine vinegar can be used instead of white vinegar.
