Ingredients

Ingredients for Meat Sauce:

  • pounds ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning, divided in half
  • 24 ounce can roasted garlic herb spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth

Ingredients for Cheese Mixture:

  • 2½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 2½ cups small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 large egg

Additional Ingredients:

  • 12 lasagna noodles (NOT NO-BOIL)
  • Fresh minced parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink.
  2. Prepare the Meat Sauce: Drain excess grease, then add spaghetti sauce, beef broth, and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning to the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Combine Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, mix 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese, 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, and egg.
  4. Layer in the Crockpot: Begin by spreading meat sauce in the crockpot, followed by lasagna noodles, cheese mixture, and repeat layers. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 3-5 hours until noodles are tender.
