Crock Pot BBQ Chicken is an easy pulled chicken recipe made right in your slow cooker. With only six simple ingredients, this flavorful dish is perfect for a quick family dinner or for sharing at potlucks.

Ingredients

Chicken:

  • 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts

BBQ Sauce Mixture:

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves minced garlic or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Lay the chicken into the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Make BBQ Sauce: In a small bowl, mix BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, minced garlic, salt & pepper. Pour over chicken.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours.
  4. Shred: Once done, shred the chicken for pulled chicken or leave whole to serve.

  • Avoid using frozen chicken in the slow cooker to ensure proper food safety.
  • Cook boneless chicken on LOW for 4–6 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours; bone-in pieces may require more time.
  • Serve BBQ pulled chicken with sides like mac and cheese, potato salad, baked potatoes, or zucchini skins.
