Ingredients

  • 16 oz button mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Clean mushrooms and remove stems. Pat dry thoroughly.
  2. Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl.
  3. Whisk milk and egg in a separate bowl.
  4. Dip each mushroom in milk mixture, then in flour mixture. Repeat to double coat.
  5. Roll mushrooms in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F in a large frying pan. Fry mushrooms in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. For the dip, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  9. Refrigerate dip for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve mushrooms with ranch dip and enjoy.
