16 oz button mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 cup breadcrumbs
Vegetable oil (for frying)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon dried dill
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Clean mushrooms and remove stems. Pat dry thoroughly.
Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl.
Whisk milk and egg in a separate bowl.
Dip each mushroom in milk mixture, then in flour mixture. Repeat to double coat.
Roll mushrooms in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
Heat oil to 350°F in a large frying pan. Fry mushrooms in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy.
Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
For the dip, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
Refrigerate dip for at least 30 minutes before serving.
