Ingredients

Marinate the chicken:

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chicken seasoning
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

Batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Coating:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine chicken cubes with salt, black pepper, paprika, chicken seasoning, lemon juice, and crushed garlic. Mix well and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the batter: Whisk together 1 cup flour, water, salt, black pepper, and paprika until smooth.
  3. Prepare the coating: Combine 3 cups flour with cornstarch in a separate bowl.
  4. Coat the chicken: Dip each marinated chicken cube into the batter, then roll in the flour-cornstarch coating. Press firmly for a crispy texture.
  5. Heat the oil: Heat oil in a deep pan over high heat.
  6. Fry the chicken: Fry on high heat for 1–2 minutes, lower to medium heat for 6–7 minutes, then raise back to high heat for 1 minute to crisp up.
  7. Drain & serve: Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauce.
