Festive, colorful, and incredibly soft, these Crinkle Cookies are made with a simple cake mix base and coated in powdered sugar for that classic crackled top. Perfect for holiday cookie trays, gifts, or baking with kids!

Ingredients

White Cake Mix:

1 box (13.25 oz)

Eggs:

2 large

Vegetable Oil:

1/3 cup

Powdered Sugar for Coating:

1/3 cup

Red and Green Gel Food Coloring:

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil.
  2. Mix until a smooth, thick dough forms.

  3. Split the dough into two equal portions.
  4. In separate bowls, color one batch red and the other green with gel food coloring.

    Mix well until colors are vibrant and even.

  5. Cover bowls with plastic wrap.
  6. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm the dough.

  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  9. Scoop 1 tbsp portions and roll into balls.
  10. Roll each ball generously in powdered sugar until fully coated.

  11. Arrange dough balls 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
  12. Bake for 9-11 minutes until cookies are crinkled and set around the edges.
  13. Do not overbake – centers should remain soft.

  14. Let cookies rest for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
  15. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Add 1 tsp vanilla extract for extra depth.
  • Mix in white chocolate chips for added sweetness.
