Creamy Tuscan Ravioli is a rich and flavorful pasta dish featuring cheese-filled ravioli tossed in a luscious creamy sauce infused with garlic, Parmesan, sun-dried tomatoes, and spinach. This quick skillet recipe offers a decadent yet easy-to-make meal perfect for a weeknight dinner or a comforting indulgence.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 1 (25 oz) package cheese ravioli

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup baby spinach (washed and chopped)
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes (drained and chopped)

Instructions

  1. Cook Ravioli: Cook the cheese ravioli according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the ravioli well and set aside to be added later in the sauce.
  2. Melt Butter and Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the butter and allow it to melt completely. Then add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add Heavy Cream and Seasonings: Pour the heavy cream into the skillet while whisking continuously. Add salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Keep whisking until the sauce begins to bubble gently.
  4. Incorporate Parmesan Cheese: Continue whisking slowly as you add the shredded Parmesan cheese in increments, making sure it melts smoothly and the sauce becomes creamy and well combined.
  5. Add Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomatoes: Stir in the chopped baby spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. Cook while stirring occasionally until the spinach has wilted and is tender.
  6. Toss Ravioli in Sauce: Add the drained ravioli back into the skillet with the creamy sauce. Gently toss to coat each piece evenly with the sauce.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese on top as a garnish and serve immediately for a delicious, creamy Tuscan-inspired meal.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen ravioli according to your preference, but adjust cooking time if needed.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes add a tangy sweetness; substitute with fresh cherry tomatoes if unavailable.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a plant-based alternative.
  • To make it vegetarian, ensure the ravioli contains no meat and use vegetarian-friendly Parmesan cheese.
  • If spinach is unavailable, kale or arugula can also be used.
