  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

Egg Wash:

  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the Crust: In a large bowl, mix flour and butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water and form a dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Filling: Combine apples, sugars, spices, lemon juice, and flour in a bowl.
  4. Assemble the Pie: Roll out one dough disc to line a pie dish. Fill with apple mixture. Top with second dough, seal edges, and vent the top.
  5. Brush with Egg Wash: Brush the crust with beaten egg.
