Instructions

  1. Mix Liquids: In a medium bowl, mix lukewarm water, honey, and molasses until dissolved.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix white bread and whole wheat flour, salt, sugar, cocoa powder, and yeast.
  3. Add Liquid Mixture: Add the honey mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead Dough: Incorporate butter and knead for 8-15 minutes until smooth and tacky.
  5. First Rise: Let the dough rise until doubled, about 1-2 hours in a warm spot.
  6. Shape Dough: Divide the dough, shape, and let rise again until almost doubled.
  7. Bake: Preheat oven, bake loaves at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow loaves to cool before slicing.

Notes

  • You can use a stand mixer or knead by hand for this recipe.
