This Cheese Bread recipe is a delightful no-knead bread that is easy to make and packed with cheesy goodness. The dough rises beautifully and bakes into a crusty, cheesy loaf that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp cooking/kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups very warm tap water

Cheese Filling:

  • 2 1/2 cups Colby cheese, freshly shredded

Instructions

  1. Magic no-knead dough: Mix flour, salt, and yeast. Add water and mix until sticky. Let rise for 2-3 hours.
  2. Preheat pot: Preheat pot in oven.
  3. Shape loaf: Pat dough into a disc, add cheese, fold, and transfer to parchment paper.
  4. Cheese crown: Top with reserved cheese.
  5. Bake: Bake covered, then uncovered. Cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Bread flour gives a chewier texture.
  • Instant yeast can be mixed directly with dry ingredients.
  • Water should be warm but not hot.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better meltability.
  • Allow dough to rise in a warm place until doubled.
  • Shape dough by folding inwards to enclose cheese.
  • Rest bread before cutting to finish cooking.
  • Store bread well for up to 36 hours.
