Delicious and crispy cabbage fritters that are easy to make and perfect as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Cabbage Fritters:

  • 16 oz shredded cabbage
  • 2 medium-small carrots (grated)
  • 23 scallions (or 1 regular onion)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 45 tbsp flour (see notes for gluten free or grain free)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (ground)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (or smoked paprika)
  • 1/2 tsp coriander (ground, optional)
  • 34 tbsp fat for frying (ghee or oil of your choice)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients (wash and cut) – Make sure all ingredients are washed and prepared.
  2. Shred the cabbage – Use a mandoline slicer for fine uniform shreds, about 16 oz or 7 packed cups.
  3. Thinly slice scallions – Slice 2-3 scallions or a regular onion.
  4. Grate the carrots – Use a box grater to grate the carrots.
  5. Mince the garlic – Mince 2 cloves of garlic or use a box grater.
  6. Combine all the ingredients – In a large bowl, mix all prepared ingredients with eggs.
  7. Shape the cabbage fritters and fry – Form balls, flatten, and fry in a skillet until golden and crispy.

Notes

  • The fritter mixture may seem loose initially, but it will hold together when fried.
