Ingredients

Pecans:

  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Butter Toffee:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate Topping:

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Dish: Spray a 9-inch square baking dish with cooking spray and line with parchment paper. Spread chopped pecans on parchment.
  2. Cook Butter Toffee: In a 3-quart pot, combine butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Cook until candy reaches 290°F-300°F, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Assemble Toffee: Pour hot toffee over pecans. After a few minutes, add chocolate chips on top. Let sit, then spread softened chocolate.
  4. Cool and Serve: Chill toffee in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
