Avocado Ice Candy is a creamy, refreshing Filipino frozen treat made from ripe avocados blended with fresh and sweetened condensed milk. This easy-to-make dessert is perfect for cooling down on a hot day and offers a rich, smooth texture with a hint of citrus from lemon or lime juice.

Ingredients

Avocado Mixture

  • 2 large avocados
  • 1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice
  • 2 cups fresh milk
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Avocado: Cut the avocados in half, discard the pits, and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Drizzle the lemon or lime juice over the avocado to prevent browning and add a slight tang to the flavor.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Transfer the avocado flesh, fresh milk, and sweetened condensed milk into a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, ensuring a uniform consistency without lumps.
  3. Fill Plastic Bags: Using a funnel, carefully pour the blended avocado mixture into plastic ice candy bags, filling each bag up to three-quarters full. Leave about 3 inches of plastic at the top, then twist the open end firmly but not too tight, tying it into a secure knot to prevent leaks.
  4. Freeze the Ice Candy: Lay the filled plastic bags flat in a single layer inside a flat container or tray. Place them in the freezer and allow the ice candy to set for about 2 to 3 hours or until fully frozen and firm enough to hold their shape.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados for the creamiest texture and best flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of condensed milk according to your desired sweetness level.
  • Ensure the plastic bags are food-safe and sealed tightly to prevent freezer burn or leaks.
  • The lemon or lime juice helps prevent discoloration and adds a refreshing citrus note.
  • Frozen avocado ice candy can be stored in the freezer for up to 1 week for optimal freshness.
